Tell Your Friends About Camping in Alaska.

Alaska's extremely popular Russian River draws anglers to the river banks in search or the abundant Sockeye Salmon that return to the river every June - July.

For thirty days beginning in mid June every summer the Kenai River is teaming with sockeye salmon and the river banks are lined with excited anglers and yes hungry brown bears too. Fishing for salmon near the Russian River Campground is popular in both the Kenai and Russian rivers. Be sure to check before fishing the confluence as this area, The Sanctuary, is only opened after escapement goals are met for the first and again for the second runs of Sockeye salmon.
