Tell Your Friends About Camping in Alaska.

The campground at Lake Jean is very small and not suited for RV's or trailers. Access is by a rather steep gravel road that exits the Sterling Highway on the upper end of the lake.

Located at mile 60.5 along the Sterling highway, Jean Lake Campground offers 3 small campsites that are limited to the first come first serve basis. These sites are best suited to tent or camper style camping and we want to warn you that the entrance is steep and the exit is dangerously blind to vehicles pulling trailers. Beware as space for larger motorhomes or trailers is very limited as is room for turning around.

At times the fishing can be excellent for rainbow trout and is especially popular in the winter for ice fishing and again in the spring as the ice retreats.
