Soldotna's Centennial Park Campground gets very busy when the salmon are running
in the Kenai River. Fishermen descend upon the banks of the Kenai River as thousands of salmon
make their way up the river within easy casting distance of the campgrounds large fishing areas.

Highway at the light and heading west onto Kalifornsky Beach Road just after crossing the
Kenai River Bridge. Just a few hundred feet further a sign will point you to an immediate
right turn onto the access road for Centennial Park.

Centennial Park is the better choice for large RV's as the campsites at Swiftwater Park are
shorter and for the most part pretty narrow if you have slides. The sites at Centennial Park
are leveler than at Swiftwater too.
Centennial Park Campground just across the Kenai River Bridge in the town of Soldotna AK. The
campground offers 176 large campsites with picnic tables and fire pits. There are flush toilets,
fresh water, a dump station for RV's and a large and busy boat launch too. Salmon fishing is
pretty good from the parking area just below the boat launch and from the fishing platforms
provided.

For those staying in Centennial Park Campground the opportunity to visit the historical Soldotna
Homestead Museum is just too good to pass up. Located just up from the campground along the
entrance road to Centennial Park, The museum offers a great afternoon experience visiting
some of early homestead cabins and a schoolhouse from the early days of the City of Soldotna.
Don't miss out on the wildlife displays in the new log building and the walk around the trails
is a great place to see the flora and fauna of the area too.
